Shaking Off Stereotypes

Item #002 $149.95

Believe in Yourself and the Rest Will Follow

Dealing with physical limitations is easy, compared to dealing with people’s attitudes. It’s hard to reach your full potential when everyone is telling you what you can’t do.

At the core of this workshop is a DVD showing the story of Samantha, a young woman with low self-confidence. Everyone Sam meets tells her she’s not qualified, she can’t do the job, because her disability is too great an obstacle. When she begins to trust her instincts and make her own choices, things begin to turn around.

After watching the DVD, participants take part in a range of hands-on exercises that promote self-advocacy skills. Participants learn to believe in themselves, cast aside all the negative stereotypes, and find power by working together.
